Welcome to the OVGS
New library aquisitions as of January 2016
Gorgeous Wool Applique by Deborah Gale Tirico
Sadly, Deborah's classes at seminar this year were cancelled but we have obtained a copy of her published designs which include well ilustrated, step by step instructions on how to make her most gorgeous wool creations.
We have also just aquired coulour sample cards for the entire line of Kreinik metallic threads. Please come and feast your eyes at the next meeting. Please note that thread sample cards are not permitted to be checked out of the library.
RSN Sampler Competition
OVGS member, Chris House has distinguished himself by tying for first place in the Royal School of Needlework's Millennium Sampler Competition. Titled "Whirlwind of Stitches" ,Chris has designed a marvelous spiral swirling sampler that reflects styles, size and colour in an almost shell-like effect. Chris used PowerPoint to design his winning entry and then submitted that image to the RSN judges. Chris is now in the process of completing the stitching of the sampler in time to meet the final deadline in early 2015 at which point the finished and framed piece will eventually become part of the permanent collection on display at Hampton Court Palace.
Congratulations Chris we are very proud of you!
