Programme for the Year
The theme for 2023-2024 is BIRDS. We have an owl, a rooster, a hen and chicks, all stitched using different techniques. Thanks to our Programme Chair, Gosia, and her excellent team of teachers for putting together this exciting and beautiful mix of classes and techniques for all of us to learn.

January & February 2024Chanticleer
"A noble rooster is elegantly worked with ivory cotton perlé thread in traditional needlelace stitches at the centre of a tiny fragrance sachet. Surrounded by a border of counted thread stitches, the ecru rooster contrasts beautifully with the burnt orange silk of the sachet insert. [The fabric for the insert will be provided by you.] An antique hem stitch border and bullion knots form an intricate decorative edge around the sachet." This Punto Antico linen sachet measures 3.5 inches square. |

March & April 2024
Little Brown Hen Needlebook
The needlebook features a plump brown hen and her sweet yellow chicks. Stumpwork techniques are cleverly combined with surface and raised embroidery to bring this charming little family to life on a background of print cotton. (The print cotton will be supplied by you.) Stranded silk and cotton threads are used to stitch the design and tiny glass beads add sparkle around the edge of the needlebook. The pattern includes two projects, a framed version and a needlebook. The course is the needlebook but students may stitch the framed version if they wish. |
