OVGS Membership is open to anyone interested in furthering the practice and knowledge of the art of embroidery. Our members are of all skill levels, from beginners to nationally certified teachers, and practice a wide variety of techniques.

Returning Members!
Registration for the 2024 – 2025 Season
During the 2nd & 3rd weeks of May you will receive an email with your 2024-2025 registration form attached.
Registration Process
® Step 1: review your personal information and note errors at the bottom of the form.
® Step 2: Complete the Payment information section at the bottom of the page.
® Step 3: Payment Options:
: For e-payments simply return your completed form by email – the OVGS Treasurer will reach out to you to process your payment. You can also return your form during the May or June meetings.
+ For cheques you can mail your completed form and the cheque to Heather Paquette. The address is on the registration form. You can also submit your form & cheque during the May or June meetings.
F For cash payments recommend you submit your form and payment during the May or June meetings.
Membership e-transfer collections and cheque deposits will start on Jun 1, 2024. Please make your payment by the end of June so that we can include you in the EAC registration for the 1st of August 2024.
Why Should I Join the Guild?
- I can discover and enjoy the companionship of others who stitch.
- I can seek help from an OVGS “Technique Guru” on a stitching problem.
- I can develop my creative embroidery ideas with the help of fellow members.

- I have access to The “Member’s only” website which reports on activities of interest to our membership.
- I can borrow from books and videos from the guild’s highly specialized lending library.
- I can apply for the annual Marian Parry Education Scholarship, named in honour of the late Marian Parry.
- I can attend the annual national Seminar.
- I can display my work at a variety of venues, such as OVGS public showings, featuring a broad range of needle art pieces.
In addition
- I am automatically enrolled in the Embroiderers’ Association of Canada and have access to all the resources of the EAC including:
- Extensive lending library of books, slides and videos;
- Study portfolios to aid in research and education of the Needle Arts;
- Cyber courses, project courses and technique study courses in embroidery techniques from basic to advanced;
- Teacher Certification Programme;
- Receiving “Embroidery Canada” magazine, two issues yearly;
- Contests, seminars, exhibitions, competitions and awards.
