Enchanting Lair’s collection of beautiful hand-dyed and hand-painted fabrics were created to enhance our designs. Our goal is to see our fabrics used on any special project you may wish to stitch, just use your imagination! Each piece of fabric has been washed in a rinse to remove the sizing , soaked in an activator and then either hand-painted , hand-dyed or immersed in a dye bath. Once the fabric has been cured over the next several days we have washed the fabric several times in hot water to remove any excess dye. After this process is complete the hand-dyed fabric is color-fast. |

Our ideas come from everyday experiences such as going to fall fairs with our two boys, dream-planning a garden in the middle of a Canadian winter, learning to wind a grandfather clock. Images of family life and love slowly fill our sketchbooks, then take shape as projects for needle, thread and cloth. |

began in 1998 after a family trip to the Rockies... the rest is history. Although Jeannette Douglas created her first needlework designs after this special trip, stitching has always been a part of Jeannette's life. As a teenager, she enjoyed many different types of needlework. Jeannette has a background in floral design and folk art painting, both of which give her knowledge of color and design. She puts a great deal of research in her designing efforts. Regular visits to stitch shops in the United States, Canada and overseas has been a big part of her business since 2002. |
